Efterklang and Andreas Koefoed welcome you to host your own screening of The Ghost of Piramida.

The rules for Private-Public Screenings are very simple.

  • The screenings need to have free entrance
  • The screenings need to be public.
  • The screenings need to have a minimum capacity of 5 people
  • The screenings need to be verified by Efterklang & Andreas Koefoed and only screenings that are featured on www.theghostofpiramida.com are official Private-Public Screenings

In other words as long as entrance is free and it is an open event (as capacity permits) the Private-Public Screenings can take place in your home, at a café, in a school auditorium or any place you can think of.

The Private-Public Screenings will run for 7 weeks – February 8th to March 31st 2013. The screenings are private because they are hosted by private people and public because the screenings are official and open to anyone – hence the name Private-Public Screenings.

The Private-Public Screening project was invented and developed in 2011 by Efterklang and Vincent Moon for their collaborative film An Island. The Private-Public Screenings is an attempt at creating a free and inspiring distribution method for film.

This is where you sign up to host a Private-Public Screening, but first we recommend you to read the rules and introduction on the left.

Once you submit your details we will verify them as fast as possible and we will notify you by email once the screening is announced on www.theghostofpiramida.com. Please notice that we need 11 days minimum to approve you screening and get you the files.

If you represent a venue, cinema, festival or any other form of organization in the cultural and entertainment world and you are interested in setting up a screening, then please contact Rasmus [at] efterklang.net to get info about hosting Official Screenings.

The hosts of Private-Public Screenings can invite friends and strangers to their screenings any way they prefer.

In addition to this it will be possible for anyone to contact the host of a screening in the Attend a Screening section on this site. Here people can request to be invited for a Private-Public Screening.

If you plan on hosting a screening in your home you have full control over who shows up. If you only have room for 5 people and you already know who these 5 people will be – then you can mark your Private-Public Screening as fully booked already when creating the event. It is also optional for you to decide if the street name and number of the screening is visible or not in the Attend a Screening section.

However, please remember that the screenings are public. If space permits we encourage the host to welcome anyone who asks for an invitation. When there is no room for more guests the host can log in to www.theghostofpiramida.com and change the status of the screening to fully booked.

Andreas Koefoed and Efterklang will both help spread the word about the many screenings via Twitter and Facebook. We encourage hosts to announce their events and spread the word about The Ghost of Piramida and the Private-Public Screenings via their social networks and personal websites if possible.

As a host you will receive a personal link to a download package. This download package will provide you with the film in high resolution as a .mov file type. The download package has a size of 1,9GB. We will use TransferBigFiles.com to handle the files.

You can play the film from your computer and connect it to a projector or one of those modern TVs, or simply screen it on your computer´s screen (if you have a big one).

If you would like to use a DVD player to screen the film then you can burn a playable DVD using a DVD burner application and the film file in the download package.

The Ghost of Piramida is a music documentary. We encourage you to make sure that you can screen the film properly and with good and clear sound.
